 Offering FREE Support to Small Not For Profit Social Care Organisations
From the start of 2010 Abaron has been offering to provide FREE consultancy support to small not for profit organisations operating in the social care sector.
How the scheme works
We hope to be able to undertake at least four projects a year and will base our decision on short submissions you provide.
We will look at the submission and make a decision about whether Abaron could offer something we believe would be of benefit and matches the skills and experience Abaron has access to.
If there is a good fit we will arrange a more detailed discussion and agree what support we can provide. We will then draft an outline of what we can offer, the time and resources we think will be involved from both sides. This will then be agreed with the lead of your organisation and your governing body.
Things to think about
Abaron hopes to fit in as many projects a year as possible but these have to be done around our own assignments. This means we cannot respond to urgent requests. Your project should be able to be completed within about 3 months.
Abaron can only guide and support. The final decision about what action to take remains with you. Your submission must have the support of the lead in your organisation.
Any legal, financial, human resource or other specialist advice will need to provided by your usual advisors. We cannot give this kind of support but we can help with access to it.

What's the criteria? - Your organisation will work in social care
- Provide services that support people who are socially excluded, marginalised and at risk of discrimination.
- Deliver these services directly and not through a third party
- You are a Registered Charity operating in the UK
- You have been operating (and Registered) for at least 3 years
- You have fewer than 15 paid employees (but as many volunteers as you like)
- You have an annual turnover of £500,000 or less
Making your submission
Your submission should be emailed to info@abaron.co.uk, should be no longer than 500 words and should say how you meet the criteria above.
Describe what who you work with, what services you provide and what you hope your organisation can achieve.
Tell us what support you need, how long you want the support and most importantly of all what success would do for your organisation once the project is completed.
What will happen next?
This is new to Abaron so assuming we don't get overwhelmed we hope to get back to everyone within 3 weeks of receiving your submission. If we are not able to help we will try and provide a little bit of detail but it may simply be a question of our own time and resources.
